The U.S. Virgin Islands are situated in the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, approximately 50 miles away from Puerto Rico.

he islands are known for their white sandy beaches, lush vegetation, and crystal clear waters that make them a popular tourist destination.  

 The USVI is comprised of St Croix, St John and St Thomas; it offers a relaxed atmosphere with sophisticated dining options.

Nonnative land mammals roaming the islands include white-tailed deer, small Asian mongoose, goats, feral donkeys, rats and mice.

The Virgin Islands National Park is home to an abundance of natural resources, including 140 species of birds, 302 species of fish, 7 species of amphibians, 22 species of mammals and 740 types plants. 

•The official bird of the Virgin Islands is found throughout the West Indies.   It favors shrubbery, forest borders, open areas and gardens.

The Virgin Islands National Park  provide protection for coral reefs, seagrass beds, mangroves, and other marine habitats..

U.S. citizens travelling to the U.S. Virgin Islands do not need a passport if arriving from Puerto Rico or the U.S mainland, as it is a United States Territory
